Mt.Etna full day - guidesicilia

Mt:Etna  is the highest and active volcano in Europe (Current 3329 metres- 10922 ft), and the most prominent landmark in Sicily.
We will drive up the Mt.Etna sud, Passing through  the charming  little  villages of  Nicolosi, and  Zafferrana, then  reach  Rifugio Sapienza, upon  arrival we will stop at   the area of  Crateri Sivestri, ( about  2.300 mtrs  /6000 ft ).
From Rifugio Sapienza you can join  an organized excursion ( take over  two hours) to the top  of the volcano. . You first  take a cable car ride for  the  first stop about  500 meters, once arrived  you can  walk to the Piccolo Rifugio or  stop  at the café, or  continue the excursion but this time  with a special car and  you will reach the summit  of the volcano at 2.900 meters  with alpine guide escorting  on foot .
